Clamshell Relay Race and Raffle!

The 25th Annual Peaks Island Clamshell Race was a merry time indeed. If you ran in the relay or bought a raffle ticket, you helped raise more than $3,000 for health-care educational scholarships for Peaks Islanders. Our two scholarship winners, Kelli Schuit and Namdol Kalsang, were our official starters. There were so many contestants that at the Fifth Maine turnaround, we ran out of clamshells to give to our racers.

Many thanks to our Island and off-Island businesses for our raffle prizes, and to the volunteers who monitored the streets, signed up teams, and figured out our race winners. Also thanks to our police/firemen who kept traffic off the curve at the Lions Club.
